Concerts and Tickets

Please join us for the Winter 2018 Concert on November 25, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Supplee Presbyterian Church at 855 Welsh Rd, Maple Glen, PA 19002.

As per our director, Mark, for the Winter 2018 Concert, ASC will be singing a selection of holiday arrangements including Paul Manz’s gorgeous “E’en So, Lord Jesus, Quickly Come,” Nathaniel Dett’s holiday classic “Listen to the Lambs,” as well as William Billings’ old-time hit “The Shepherd’s Carol” and a relatively new setting of the traditional “Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming” that we think you will adore.

We’ll celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Gounod with his “Sanctus”
from the St. Cecilia Mass. We’ll discover two new motets: Morten Lauridsen’s
glorious “Ave Maria” and Guy Forbes spectacular “O Nata Lux.”  There is
a Chanukah selection this year – Al Hanissim – which is like everyone’s favorite
Yiddish theater tune. We’ll be doing an extended work by Joseph Martin called Song of Wisdom from “Old Turtle.” This piece is filled with dramatic, colorful vocal writing but also features a narrator.  It will be a lively, lovely concert!

Ticket prices are $20 for adults, $5 for children and can be purchased at the door.
